Every year, the Connecticut State Department of Education measures each school and district on a set of twelve indicators related to preparing students for college, career, and life. The indicators provide an integrated perspective of school and district performance. Some of these indicators include assessment results, graduation rates, attendance, physical fitness, arts access, and academic growth over time.
The title, School of Distinction, is given to primary and secondary schools which score in the top ten percent of individual indicators each year.
"We are incredibly proud to have five Fairfield schools earn the honor of being named Schools of Distinction this year," said Fairfield Public Schools Superintendent Michael J. Testani. "Our team of exceptional educators and staff members truly believe in Fairfield students. They are dedicated to ensuring that our children have the tools and support needed for success now and in the future."
