Alachua County inmate commits suicide

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Alachua County sheriff's deputies confirm that an inmate at the jail is dead after they say he committed suicide Wednesday evening. Stewart Robinson, 54, was in the jail's infirmary, and officers checked on him every 15 minutes. At about 4:15 they say they found him hanging in the room. They say detention staff performed life-saving measures before he was taken to the hospital. Robinson was arrested on october 5th after he failed to go to a pre-trial hearing for a previous arrest.
