3-alarm fire burns pallet recycling business in NE Portland

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - A three-alarm fire burned through a pallet recycling business in northeast Portland on Thursday night, according to Portland Fire & Rescue.VIEWER VIDEO: At about 7:30 p.m., firefighters responded to a fire on Northeast 47th Avenue near the Whitaker Ponds Natural Area. They said the fire started in a large stack of pallets and then the flames threatened to spread to nearby buildings.SEE ALSO: Crews also said they determined there was a "large fuel storage tank" and the fire brought down several live powerlines. The power company sent a crew to help deal with the live wires. Crews said the business also doubled as a home, but no one was inside and no injuries have been reported. Crews were able to keep the fire from spreading beyond the pallet recycling business building.
