Sports presenter Alex Aljoe has been praised by football fans for her post-match interview with Luis Diaz .

The Amazon Prime reporter was speaking to Diaz after Liverpool's 4-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday, during which he earned his first hat-trick for club.

While the Colombian footballer is often forced to adopt his second language of English during post match interviews, he was instead able to speak in his native Spanish thanks to Aljoe's multilingualism.

Speaking to Diaz shortly after the game, she first outlined her question to the camera in English before translating it back to the player - who then replied in Spanish - before translating his answer.

The heartwarming interaction has won the praise of other sports pundits and social media users alike, who described the interview as 'brilliant' and called for Aljoe to appear more often in Premier League football coverage.

Aljoe asked Diaz about the team's performance during the game: 'The manager makes it very clear to us exactly what he wants and he makes it very clear to us our positions on the pitch.

'The most important thing is the three points in this edition of the Champions League, so we can keep progressing in the competition.'

Aljoe then asked if things could be going any better with Liverpool's new manager Arne Slot.

Diaz replied: 'Things have gone so well with the new manager obviously it wasn't easy for him to come in and fill Jurgen Klopp's shoes.

'But we just need to keep going and hopefully by the end of the season we have something to show for it.

Aljoe then asked Diaz about his form, having won the man of the match ball for his performance during the game.

He said: 'Yes it's the most important thing now that I go and find that ball because I need to keep it somewhere special at home. I'm so happy with the three points and the win.'

Liverpool romped to a 4-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen which was led by former Merseyside favourite Xabi Alonso.

The victory, earned by a first Reds hat-trick by Diaz and a header from Cody Gakpo, sent Liverpool top of the 36-team Champions League group with a 100 per cent record.

It was Slot's 14th win in his first 16 matches as Liverpool manager and the Dutchman was clearly touched by the chanting from the stands.

'It is always better for a manager this happens than they start to boo,' he smiled. 'It was special to be here from the start and it is always special if they sing your name.

'Some players are used to it, I'm not. Signing for a manager is not that common, at least in Holland. And I have to thank Jurgen, he is the one who came up with the song.

'I also liked it a lot they sang for Xabi as well because he is so special for this club with his achievements. For these reasons, he deserved the fans to sing for him as well.'
