Almost 200 without power, road closed after tractor-trailer crash in Greenville Co.

(WSPA) – Close to 200 residents are without power early Friday morning after a single-vehicle collision involving a tractor-trailer in Greenville County.

Officials with the Piedmont Fire Department said Piedmont Highway at the intersection of Greenville Street is closed following the crash.

The outage was first reported around 4 a.m. according to Duke Energy. Firefighters learned that the tractor-trailer hit a power pole as the driver attempted to turn around on the road.

No injuries were reported.

Duke Energy's outage map shows that about 196 customers in the Piedmont area are without power due to the crash.

Officials said an estimated time of restoration is 9 a.m.

Morning commuters are encouraged to avoid the area and find alternate routes at this time.
