Altercation turned shooting leaves one woman hospitalized

SAN ANTONIO - A woman was taken to the hospital after gunfire broke out during an argument between a group of women.

Around 3 a.m. on Saturday, police responded to calls of a shooting outside an apartment complex along Rittiman Road near Melton Drive on the Northeast side.

When police arrived, they found one woman in her early 20s with non-life-threatening injuries and transported her to the hospital.

Witnesses reported that during an argument between the group of women, gunfire broke out, hitting the victim.

Police have detained several people involved in the altercation, and believe alcohol may have been a factor.

Authorities are still investigating the situation.
