MyKayla Skinner may have taken a bigger bite than she can chew. Following her controversial statement on the USA's women's gymnastics team yesterday, the whole community seems to be out for her head . However, even amidst the drama, other stars are continuing to help to maintain balance. While chaos ensues, the 2023 World Championships gold medalist Joscelyn Roberson seems to be the voice of reason.

A couple of days ago, the 18-year-old Arkansas star was announced as the traveling alternate for Team USA at the upcoming Paris Olympics. While Roberson dished out quite the performance at the Target Center last month, her inability to clinch a top-four finish made it clear that she wouldn't be on the first team to represent the US at the Olympics, but she seems to be at peace with the decision.

Joscelyn Roberson isn't one to make a fuss In an interview with Olympics.com , following the announcement, Roberson noted how she has come to terms with the fact she might not get the chance to ultimately compete in Paris despite being placed sixth overall at the US Olympic Team Trials. "I wanted to really embrace whatever role I was put in. Being put in an alternate spot is hard, but I don't want people to look at me and be like, 'Oh, she was so close.' I want them to look at me like, 'She's going to be their biggest supporter," Roberson said about her way of seeing things.

"...she's going to be ready if they need her, and she's going to be screaming from the rooftops,'" Roberson said further about how she will stand behind her comrades nonetheless and will undertake the cheerleading duties with all her heart. The teen's feat in Minneapolis becomes even more impressive considering the fact that her ankle injury from the 2023 World Championships cast dark clouds on her future.

And yet, Joscelyn managed to bounce back in a way that would evoke envy among her peers. And now, as she readies herself to take on whatever comes her way in Paris, the fans can't help but hail her mentality going into the Olympic Games.

The fans rally behind Roberson's cause Naturally, with Skinner's comments making quite the ripple, Joscelyn's statement came as a breath of fresh air, and fans couldn't stop commending her attitude. "This is so sweet," reads the caption of a post by a gymnastics fan who is in admiration of the Razorback star.

What an icon," commented Meghan and extended her congratulations to Roberson for being so excited about her alternate role. Joscelyn bagged multiple gold medals at the 2023 Pan American Championships as well, a feat that could lead many of her peers into a state of relaxation. However, the NCAA star kept the fire in her alive and proved her worth in style despite competing against the likes of Simone Biles and Suni Lee in Minneapolis.

Ellie is also convinced that Joscely just showed the world what being a talented athlete really means. is a CLASS ACT," commented the fan as the Skinner controversy continued to gain momentum. Considering how MyKayla boasts a stacked resume, her comments weren't warranted about her colleagues, and many lashed back at the Olympic silver medalist for her distasteful words. On the other hand, Roberson's acceptance of the USAG's verdict goes to show that she belongs to an elite class of athletes in her own rights.

More fans are of the opinion that Joscely should be protected at all costs. Her optimistic approach to the collective decision has a fan commenting "she's so precious," and we're in agreement. With a total of 110.975, Roberson's score at the Team Trials wasn't poor by any means, however, considering the competition she faced, her injuries were sure to be a factor. And yet, Roberson rose above the challenge with a smile on her face.

The Razorbacks are a program that has produced some of the best gymnasts for Team USA over the years. Rightfully, Tanya thinks Joscelyn can go on to become a precious asset for Arkansas in the coming years as she wrote "she really couldn't have picked a better school to go to, like she's gonna be such a great leader for them," in her social media post.
