TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - "I'm home Rattlers."

Three words said by Angela Suggs Monday as the Tallahassee native and Florida A&M graduate was introduced as FAMU's 19th Vice President and Director of Athletics, a job she waited for, and in perfect timing, became hers.

"Being home doesn't just mean me coming home," she said. "It's the hometown success, it's what Tallahassee's about."

Who better to know that than the Tallahassee girl herself. Suggs was born on FAMU's campus at the old FAMU hospital, and later went on to attend FAMU DRS and later, went from Baby Rattler to Rattler, going on to graduate from FAMU.

"I am a woman of faith, and I believe that God order our steps in the direction we're supposed to be."

Now, as the new Director of Athletics for the Rattlers, the vision she sees is crystal clear.

"Win 14 championships," she said. "For us to create a stellar student-athlete experience, but also to create an experience for our coaches and our staff."

Suggs said communication with everyone on campus will be critical for that success to happen.

"All of us together are the arms and the legs, we are the pieces of the puzzle that present the picture of the success we are looking for."

Success she's seen and lived.

"I am a proud alum and I have great memories of being at all our sporting events."

With many more memories to come. Suggs' first official day on campus is October 7th.
