Angelina Jolie's father Jon Voight celebrates Donald Trump's election victory with Sarah Huckabee Sanders

Angelina Jolie 's father, Jon Voight, celebrated Donald Trump 's historic win against Kamala Harris at a party with Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

The 85-year-old Oscar winner, who is one of Hollywood's most outspoken Trump supporters , was featured in an Instagram slideshow shared by Sanders, 42, after Republicans won the presidential race and flipped control of the Senate .

In the image, he can be seen next to Sanders, who beamed at the camera, inside a party held at Trump's private club, Mar-a-Lago, which was also attended by Elon Musk , Caitlyn Jenner , Tiffany Trump , Barron Trump, Eric Trump and Don Jr .

During Trump's first presidency, he awarded Voight with the National Medal of Arts and National Humanities Medal.

Over the years, Voight has publicly lauded Trump and blasted the Biden administration.

Following the end of Trump's presidency in January 2021, Voight shared a video, in which he addressed his 'fellow Americans.'

'We shall not weep, but let us give thanks to President Trump for his four years of hard work and love for America. Let us not put our heads down, let us rise and look to a better future. Let us praise God. Let us understand that His plan is far greater,' he said.

In the recording, he also acknowledged the deadly riots that saw Trump supporters force themselves past Capitol security just as the Senate was in the process of voting to confirm the electoral college votes.

'I know all are disappointed, but this violence is not who we are. We are love, respect, honor. The ones who destroyed will be accountable but the ones who truly wanted to share love and respect will be heard,' he continued.

Voight concluded the post by stating: 'Let us put aside our differences and let America grow. Let us stand again with pride and we as a nation will hold on to the love that President Trump shared with us all. It's not over. The truths of justice will prevail for God's glory shall as well. Love to you.'

In July 2024, he criticized his once-estranged daughter's ongoing support for Palestinians .

'She has been exposed to propaganda,' he told Variety. 'She's been influenced by anti-Semitic people. Angie has a connection to the U.N., and she's enjoyed speaking out for refugees. But these people are not refugees.'

Voight, then, claimed Jolie 'have no idea what's going on' and that those that oppose his right-wing political opinions are 'way off.'

'I love my daughter. I don't want to fight with my daughter,' he told the outlet. 'But the fact is, I think she has been influenced by the U.N. From the beginning, it's been awful with human rights. They call it human rights, but it's just anti-Israel bashing.'

He went on to insist that 'she's ignorant of what the real stakes are and what the real story is because she's in the loop of the United Nations.'

Variety noted that he spoke of Jolie's 'ignorance' numerous times and even compared the comments to a 'candidate going after an opponent in a 30-second ad.'

Meanwhile a source close to the actress told the outlet that she wishes her dad 'well' but chooses not to 'speak about him publicly.'

The pair have had a rocky relationship over the years, but reconciled in the 2010s.

'It's wonderful for me to spend time with Angie. Any five minutes I get, I'm always appreciative, so this is great that I could come and hang out with her a little bit — and the kids, too,' Voight told The Hollywood Reporter in 2019.
