Rochester, MN ( KROC-AM News ) - An arrest warrant was issued today for a man who failed to show up in Olmsted County Court for his sentencing hearing.

Court records show was scheduled for sentencing on Monday in the case where he was accused of pointing a gun at another man and threatening to kill him at a local convenience store last summer. He was arrested last July after a man told Rochester police that he was refueling his vehicle when he was approached by a man he did not know who was yelling in both Spanish and English before the man went back to his vehicle and returned with a handgun.

The criminal complaint says investigators reviewed video recorded by the convenience stores surveillance cameras that captured the incident. The court document also says Rodriguez later admitted pointing the gun at the victim after police obtained a search warrant and recovered the weapon.

He was charged with second-degree assault , terroristic threats, and illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. A few months ago, Rodriguez entered into a plea agreement and admitted to the firearm possession charge.
