Russ and Paola made their debut on season 1 of 90 Day Fiancé . They documented the 90 days leading up to their October 7, 2013, wedding on the show, and they went on to star in seasons 1-4 of the spinoff, 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? They documented the January 9, 2019, birth of their first child , son Axel , on season 4.

While the couple had not appeared in a full season since 2019, they've made appearances in other TLC spinoffs like 90 Day Fiancé: Pillow Talk and Discovery+ spinoffs like Love Games and 90 Day: Foody Call . Although they documented tension and fights over the years, they always seemed to be committed to their marriage.

'90 Day Fiance' Stars Russ and Paola Have Had Ups and Downs in Their Relationship

Unfortunately, Russ and Pao sparked split rumors in August 2021 when she shared a series of cryptic messages on social media.

"Part of the reason why relationships end is that we get caught up in other things, forget to appreciate one another, and sadly, marriage isn't a priority anymore," Paola tweeted that month, later tweeting another message, reading , "People asked me why I don't take pictures with my husband, and my answer is ... I just don't like to pretend [shrugging emoji] #youareguessingright."

That same month, In Touch exclusively confirmed Russ and Pao were " on a break " and seeking marriage counseling to overcome their marital issues.

"During this pandemic, it hit everyone very hard, especially couples who have had to stay indoors with each other 24/7," Dominique Enchinton, Paola's manager and owner of Dominion Talent House, exclusively told at the time. Dominique also brought up how their RV lifestyle made things harder since it didn't give the couple much space from each other.

"Russ has lost his job during the pandemic, so Paola was the sole breadwinner for the past year," Dominique added. "With all of that, it's definitely taken a toll on both of them." She said that although the reality star parents were at odds, Paola and Russ were "not getting a divorce yet," adding, "They are still together. They are just taking a break and going to therapy to work through the issues."

However, it seemed the break was for the best and therapy helped. By October 2021, the couple celebrated their eight-year wedding anniversary and Paola shared an update on their relationship status with fans.

"8 years together,​​" the reality star-turned-wrestler captioned a video showing off a beautiful bouquet of red roses sent by her husband on October 7, 2021. "We are working on it like we always do. #anniversary."

The pair returned for an episode of 90 Day Diaries in June 2022 and gave further insight into what exactly happened during the rough patch in their marriage in August 2021.

When talking about the decision to try therapy, Paola detailed that their counseling session could've gone two ways. "One, maybe we're gonna try to fix it," the Colombian native told her husband during a scene. "Or either way, they're gonna try to make you realize that maybe we are not supposed to be together anymore."

While speaking with the marriage counselor, Paola revealed she had already asked Russ for the divorce "a couple of times."

"[I] got a really bad reaction from him and I kind of understand 'cause he wants to fight for the marriage," the wrestler told the therapist. "But I'm getting to a breaking point that I'm just exhausted and like, I don't wanna keep fighting for this."

Are '90 Day Fiance' Stars Paola and Russ Still Together?

Russ and Paola are still together as of November 2024. On the heels of celebrating their 11th wedding anniversary, Paola gave an update on her relationship with Russ in an exclusive interview with In Touch.

"I feel like at this point, I do not have that much drama in my life," Paola said in November 2024. "I'm so happy for that because, to be honest, I went through hell to be what I am right now and my relationship is doing much better."

She also teased future plans of adopting a child to join their family and make Axel a big brother. "He said he wants a sister, and then I told him, like, 'Eventually, maybe I will get pregnant again.' And he was like, 'Oh my gosh! And then you will have a little brother in your belly,'" she explained. "He is really asking for a sibling ... I feel like he does need it because I don't want my son to be alone and I'm coming from a big family."
