Area Quartet Receive National Recognition/ Trio From Sem And One Player From Wvw Make The Olympic Developmental Squad

Three players from Wyoming Seminary and one from Wyoming Valley West were
named to the Olympic Developmental Squad on Friday by the U.S. Field Hockey
Association.

The selections were made following the U14 and U16 competition at the
National Futures Tournament in Virginia Beach, Va.
The Olympic Developmental Squad is the equivalent of the U.S. U16 National
Team.

Making the squad are Kelsey Kolojejchick of Larksville (Wyoming Valley
West), Kat Sharkey of Moosic (Wyoming Seminary), Kelsey Lloyd of Shavertown
(Wyoming Seminary) and Tara Puffenberger of Dallas (Wyoming Seminary). Sharkey
will be a sophomore at Wyoming Seminary. Puffenberger and Lloyd are incoming
freshmen at Seminary, and Kolojejchick is an incoming freshman at Valley West.
Kolojejchick was a member of the 2005 U16 National Team.

All four were part of teams that won gold medals during competition at the
National Futures Tournament. Kolojejchick, Puffenberger and Lloyd were on the
USA East team that won the championship in the U14 division, and Sharkey was
on the Stroudsburg team that won in U16.

All four also were picked to take part in the AAU Junior Olympics, and were
among 14 local players picked for the event, set for Aug. 1-6 in New Orleans.

Also picked for Junior Olympics were Kelsey Amy of Sweet Valley
(Lake-Lehman), Erin Conrad of Wilkes-Barre (Meyers), Amy Daniel of Mountain
Top (Crestwood), Devon Gagliardi of Wilkes-Barre (Wyoming Seminary), Dominique
Pasqualichio of Wilkes-Barre (Meyers), Jordan Petchel of Mountain Top
(Crestwood), Kendra Sirak of Dallas (Wyoming Seminary), Kaitlyn Snyder of
Trucksville (Wyoming Seminary), Caroline Suitch of Mountain Top (Bishop Hoban)
and Heather Susek of Plains Township (Coughlin). Randi Segear of Wilkes-Barre
was named as an alternate to the Junior Olympics.

There were 128 players from around the nation picked for Junior Olympics
following U14 and U16 competition at the National Futures Tournament.
