Lucas Burgum pitched seven strong innings and the Bismarck Larks picked up their first win of the second half on Thursday.

Burgum allowe3d one unearned run on six hits, walking two and striking out three. The Larks (19-19 overall, 1-1 second half) gained a split in their two-game series with an 8-1 win over the Duluth Huskies.

Kai Taylor allowed three hits and struck out two finishing up for Bismarck.

Kyle Hvidsten and Brady Krzciok each had two of the Larks' eight hits.

Hvidsten drove in four runs. Eric Dessens and Joey Baran each scored two runs.

The Larks used a four-run fifth inning to take command.

Bismarck travels to Minot on Friday for the first of s home-and-home series with the Hot Tots. The teams meet at 7:05 p.m. Saturday at Municipal Ballpark.
