At The Movies: ‘Heretic’ & ‘Memoir of a Snail’
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — What's up with Hugh Grant? The charming Brit from "4 Weddings & a Funeral" and "Bridget Jones," who most recently played an Oompa Loompa, gets his villain on for real in "Heretic."
In his first horror outing, Grant plays Mr. Reed, a creepy gent who traps two young missionaries in his home when they come knocking, they'll be the ones who need to be saved. Written by the same guys who gave us 2018's "A Quiet Place," there will be plenty of jump scares.
At The Movies: 'Here' & 'Anora'
There's also the stop motion, dare I say, masterpiece, "Memoir of a Snail." It's the memoir of an Australian woman, voiced by "Succession" star Sarah Snook, who just so happens to love snails.
Sarah recounts her life story to her pet snail named Sylvia, which is in turn a sad and triumphant story of two siblings spending their lives trying to get back to each other.
Filmmaker Adam Elliott gives Tim Burton a run for his stop-motion money with a snail.
