At the Movies: ‘Red One’ & ‘Real Pain’

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — J. K. Simmons already played Santa, voicing him in 2019's animated film "Klaus," but this time we get to see the Oscar winner as the "Red One."

That's how Santa's known to his security. Head of security, Dwayne Johnson- also known as The Rock- is done with his gig at "elf enforcement, logistics, and fortification" after this one last Christmas.

So it's not great for the big guy to get kidnapped, or, in this case, Santa-napped. Now, he's working with Captain America Chris Evans, a bounty hunter, to save Santa.

At The Movies: 'Heretic' & 'Memoir of a Snail'

The Rock reunites with his Jumanji Director Jake Kasdan, so expect it to be fast, fun, and full of adventure.

Also, it's clear Emmy winner Kieran Culkin now wants an Oscar.

What a performance in Jesse Eisenberg's "Real Pain," where Culkin and Eisenberg play cousins who used to be close. After their Grandma dies, they decide to visit her homeland of Poland.

It'll break your heart and fill it with lots of laughs along the way.

Last year's Best Actor Oscar winner Cillian Murphy has "Small Things like These," playing an Irishman with five kids, a lot to lose.

It's one man's stand against the church amidst a scandal, based on the acclaimed book and set in the 80s.
