Attempted break-in prompts shots fired call in Dayton

DAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — Shots were fired after a group of suspects attempted to break into a home.

A shots fired call was reported around 11:30 a.m. in the 3300 block of W. Second Street in Dayton. Several officers with the Dayton Police Department responded to the scene.

Man arrested in Dayton after suspicious vehicle call

Police on scene told 2 NEWS that the incident began when a group of five suspects attempted to break into a home on Second Street. The suspects fired shots into the home upon entry.

A male homeowner was at home at the time, and reportedly returned fire, striking one of the intruders. That individual was hospitalized for their injuries.

Police say they arrested all five suspects. Investigation is underway.
