Austin community unites to honor fallen officers
The Austin community has experienced significant tragedy and loss after several Austin police officers have passed away or been injured during the month of November.
A walk/rally was held by the community on Sunday afternoon to honor the recent officers that have passed away or been injured.
The march began at 3 p.m. on the sidewalk in front of the Texas Capitol, and ended after proceeding towards Austin City Hall.
The purpose of this walk was to provide a space for community members to give condolences, grieve together, and show support for the families and others affected by these tragedies.
Attendees held up signs while marching to show their support and were encouraged to bring flameless candles to the event as well.
The rally closed with brief remarks from community representatives and leaders, and anyone who wanted to show their support for fallen and injured officers was welcome to attend.
