Authorities arrest suspect after human remains found on property

LEON COUNTY, Texas (KWTX) - Authorities arrested a suspect after finding human remains on his property following a search warrant. On June 19, 2024, police received a report of a missing person and child who had not had contact with their family since July of 2022. Police said they were both considered missing persons and an investigation began. On October 22, 2024, police executed a search warrant at a property in Buffalo, Texas and found human remains. The remains were sent to the Center for Human Identification at The University of North Texas to be forensically examined and identified. On November 12, police arrested Michael Dean Davis Jr. in Lardeo and charged with murder. Davis is currently in Webb County Jail where he is currently being held on a $3,000,000 bond. Police say this is still an ongoing investigation.
