Babe Ruth, Cal Ripken Southwest Regional Baseball Tournament to be hosted in Ouachita Parish

MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Northeast Louisiana baseball fans may want to mark their calendars. Discover Monroe-West Monroe announced they won the bid to host the Babe Ruth and Cal Ripken Southwest Regional Baseball Tournament. The tournament will take place from July 16-20, 2025, and will feature 80 teams from across Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Oklahoma and Texas. The matchups will take place at ULM's Lou St. Amant Field, Sterlington Sports Complex and the Ouachita Sportsplex. The games will be held at three different locations — ULM's Lou St. Amant Field, the Sterlington Sports Complex and the Ouachita Sportsplex. Players will compete in age groups ranging from 6U to 18U. "This is a tremendous opportunity for our community to showcase its sports facilities and hospitality," said Discover Monroe-West Monroe Executive Vice President of Sales, Scott Bruscato. "We're looking forward to welcoming athletes and their families to enjoy all that Monroe-West Monroe has to offer." According to Discover Monroe-West Monore, the tournament is expected to have an estimated economic impact of $1,213,476.13. Officials say it is also expected to draw in 1,000 attendees and generate 2,800 room nights for local hotels.
