According to the affidavit, Teekaye had several conversations with an undercover officer from March 2023 to October 2024. In that time, Teekaye told the officer he wanted to attack Americans who support Israel, that he was in contact with a Somali ISIS fighter and received an Ethiopian visa to join the man, purchased multiple weapons and spent time at a shooting range in Severn to "train," among other things.

On October 11, 2024, the officer asked Teekaye if he was "sure" he wanted to join ISIS, to which Teekaye responded that he is sure.

Three days later, Teekaye was arrested at BWI airport. After he was read his Miranda rights, Teekaye stated, "I'll just get out in 20 years and do something here. Okay? Okay? You will never stop me. Jihad will never stop. . . . I'll be like 40 when I get out, then I'll just do it. I don't care. You will never stop me. Jihad will never stop. I'll come and I'll kill your soldiers. I'll kill you," according to officials.

Teekaye faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison, according to the press release.
