Basin Business: Luxury barbershop, spa for men opens in Odessa
ODESSA, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- A new luxury barber business club that "empowers gentleman with confidence" has made its way to Odessa. From luxury shaves, haircuts, shoeshines, beard trims, and hand repairs, to complimentary beverages, The Gents Place offers a luxury pampering experience for men wishing to feel and look their best.
The Gents Place, located at 7270 East Highway 191 Suite 200 inside Parks Legado, opened Tuesday, October 28, and all began after an entrepreneurial couple heard about the luxury barbershop franchise from a relative.
"It was actually in 2019 when my aunt told me about it," Torrey Harding, Strategic Partner with The Gents Place said. "I thought, man, I really need to look into this because we need this in the area. There's nothing like it...that was 2019 at Thanksgiving...then COVID hit."
Harding said that despite the pause the pandemic had on businesses everywhere including The Gents Place franchise, was still driven to open a location in the area.

"I just didn't do anything, but couldn't get it off my mind...it was two years ago that I contacted the franchise and they also had taken a break during COVID from franchising," Harding said. "They contacted me and kind of went through the whole process."
Harding said that after she and her husband heard back from the franchise, met the founders which further pushed their desire to open a location in Odessa.
"About a year and a half ago we went to Frisco and got to see that location and meet all the corporate team. They're fantastic..when me and my husband went to our discovery day, it was just like a no-brainer...These are the kind of people I want to be in business with," Harding said.
Founded in 2008 by Ben and Lauren Davis, The Gents Place franchise first opened in Frisco Texas, before it scaled nationally over the years.
Now, after making its way to Odessa with the work of franchise owner Harding, guests in the Permian Basin can visit The Gents Place and enjoy haircuts and shaving, while using the luxuries of a "modern spa for gentlemen."
"If you're looking for a new barber, somewhere to get your hair cut, come in, experience a luxury experience. You can come in, get a top-shelf beverage, enjoy yourself, be here in the members lounge, and get to network with other men here in Odessa," Harding said.
The Gents Place is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
