Firefighters received a 911 call about a mobile home fire on the 1000 block of Space Park Way just past 4:30 a.m. MVFD said both residents were evacuated from the home before fire crews arrived.

Despite crews arriving less than 15 minutes after the 911 call was made, a Mountain View Police Department officer arrived before MVFD crews and used a fire extinguisher to put out a fire in an electrical exhaust fan, officials said.

MVFD then conducted an "extensive overhaul" by cutting open the mobile home's ceiling to inspect the roof for an extension of the fire and completely extinguish any remaining flames.

The residents, according to the city of Mountain View, "received a $250 gift card from the California Professional Firefighters Union Supplying Aid to Victims of Emergency Program."

The estimated damages of the fire, according to MVFD, "is $10,000."

The fire was extinguished with no injuries, and the two residents were allowed to return to their home after the fire was controlled, MVFD said.
