BEAVERTON Ore. (KPTV) - A Beaverton family is bringing back Carnaval Des Zombies for a second year to celebrate the Halloween spirit.

The mother-daughter duo worked for months to build their display, which comes with a history lesson after tireless research.

"Sabrina researched all of the characters," co-creator Milly Cockayne said, "it's nice that people take the time to read the plaques and learn a little bit."

The "Hugh Jackman" skeleton inspired by the actors character in "The Greatest Showman" features 180,000 tiles, laid by the duo.

Many of the characters are made by hand, a difficult feat for Sabrina. Sabrina has lupus, which slows her progress but doesn't stop her.

"It mostly impacts my joints and mobility, so we have to do things in stages," Sabrina said.

With family, the group is able to bring the scares of the zombie carnival to life.

"Every year we say, 'we're not doing it again- it's too hard,' and we always do it again," Sabrina said.

On Friday and Saturday nights, attendees can enjoy a guided tour of the display at: 2210 SW 208th Ave, Beaverton, OR

On Halloween night, a fortune teller will join the carnival to hand out candy and see what the future holds.
