Those unbeaten Cleveland Cavaliers are in action, and their fast start is becoming more historic. Cleveland stands 12-0, and only five NBA teams have ever won more consecutive games at the outset of a season.

The Minnesota Timberwolves seek to bounce back in the second part of a back-to-back with the Portland Trail Blazers. Minnesota's performance was mighty suspect on Tuesday night, and the club should be motivated to play much better.

On the ice, Colorado star Nathan MacKinnon has 12 points in five games this month, and he went scoreless in one of them for the first time all season. MacKinnon leads the league with 30 points after finishing last season in second with 140.

If Cleveland can run its streak to 15, it will be visiting the Celtics next Tuesday in a must-watch event. The Cavaliers defeated the host Bulls 119-113 on Monday behind Donovan Mitchell's 36 points.

Philadelphia lost 111-99 to the visiting New York Knicks on Tuesday as former MVP Joel Embiid (knee, suspension) made his season debut and scored 13 points on rusty 2-of-11 shooting. Embiid hedged on whether he will sit out Wednesday after previously saying he wouldn't play in back-to-backs, but we see the Cavaliers rolling whether or not he suits up.

The Timberwolves had beaten the Trail Blazers five straight times when they showed up to play in Portland on Tuesday. One of those was a 127-102 beatdown in Minneapolis on Friday.

So naturally, the Trail Blazers controlled the rematch and recorded a 122-108 in a stunning performance. The Timberwolves committed a season-worst 23 turnovers and were 13 of 35 from 3-point range after being 22 of 50 in the previous meeting.

Anthony Edwards made four treys and scored 26 points on Tuesday after making nine and scoring 37 in the game in the Twin Cities. Portland was energized by the play of Robert Williams III, who had 19 points on 9-of-10 shooting in his third game since major knee surgery.

The showing was one of Portland's best of the seasons, but hard to see them knocking off the Timberwolves two straight nights. Minnesota likely posts another rout this time.
