Biker Killed in Crash With SUV in Huntington Beach
A 24-year-old man on a motorcycle was killed in a crash with an SUV in Huntington Beach, authorities said Saturday.
Officers dispatched at about 7 p.m. Friday to Beach Boulevard at Taylor Driver located the motorcyclist and his blue 2024 Yamaha R1 in the roadway, the Huntington Beach Police Department reported.
The victim, a resident of Rosemead, was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to police, the biker had been speeding southbound on Beach Boulevard, in the No. 2 lane just north of Taylor Drive, when he collided with a northbound gray Mercedes GLS450 that was beginning a U-turn in the dedicated left turn lane at Taylor.
The SUV driver, a 47-year-old man, remained at the scene. Intoxication was not a factor in the crash, police said.
