Body found after Queen Creek house fire is identified as 82-year-old

The body discovered inside a Queen Creek home after a fire on Sept. 21 has been identified as Gary McDonald, 82.

First responders found his remains at a burned house in a neighborhood near Power Road and Hunt Highway, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.

A spokesperson for the sheriff's office could not confirm whether McDonald was a resident of the home. The cause of death and the cause of the fire have not been disclosed, and the spokesperson stated there were no further updates.

Around 4 p.m. on Sept. 21, sheriff's deputies and firefighters responded to the fire, and after it was extinguished, a human body was discovered, according to previous statements from the agency.
