With the sunrise, a community in Utah got a clear look at the aftermath of a that left a 15-year-old Bingham High School student dead.

According to a statement from South Jordan authorities, the family requested the boy's name not be released right away.

KUTV identified the teen but will withhold publishing his name at this time.

Multiple videos and photos submitted to KUTV show what once was a home near 10600 South and 3200 West, which was fully intact the day before but nothing more than charred piles of debris on Thursday morning.

The home combusted around 3 p.m. Wednesday, authorities said.

According to officials, the boy was inside when the explosion happened.

Pieces of the house were blasted dozens of yards from the structure, and drone footage showed what appeared to be some of that debris on the rooftop of a neighboring residence.

Both homes on either side of the property were evacuated after the explosion, and South Jordan officials reported both sustained "moderate levels of damage."

KUTV crews at the scene captured images showing the damage to an adjacent house, which was akin to damage seen to homes in the 2020 Magna earthquake.

It wasn't clear if residents had been allowed to return as of the most recent update time on this report.

The cause of the explosion hasn't been determined.
