Bradley Carl May

June 23, 1960 - October 31, 2024

Bradley (Brad) May of Richland passed away peacefully at home on October 31, 2024, after a long fought battle with COPD.

Brad was born on June 23, 1960, in Kirkland, Wash., to Ronald and Yvonne May. In 1967, he and his family moved to Nebraska and resided in the Columbus/Schuyler area. In 1985, he met his wife Dora; they were married in Columbus, Neb.

Together they shared a son, James, and a daughter, Amanda.

Throughout his life, Brad was an avid welder, working at many fabrication companies in Columbus, including Henke Mfg, Behlen Mfg, Greystone/Superior Mfg, and Flat River. He also took great pride in his self-built business, Iron Horse, in which he made and sold yard art throughout flea markets and horse sales across the Midwest. These were his greatest times, as he met many lifelong friends along the way.

In his pastime, he loved working in his shop. Whether it was to sit down and enjoy a beer, work on something that needed fixing, or create something new. He was rarely found inside, but when he was, he was usually found watching a western on TV, usually old reruns of Gunsmoke. He loved sharing stories with anyone who took a few minutes (or hours) to pull up a chair and listen and could make anyone laugh with his way of words. Aside from all of this, his greatest joy was spending time and making memories with his grandchildren: Mackenzie, Gabriel, Nico, Isabella, and Rowen Bradley.

Sisters: Brenda May (Pat Liska) of Ashland, Neb., and Jessica (Jaret) Wernimont of Omaha, Neb.

Nephew: Anthony Garcia

Niece: Savannah May

Grandmother: June Halvorsen of Fremont, Neb.

Mother-in-Law: Betty Devall of Columbus, Neb.

In-laws: Deb (Howard) Brewington of Columbus, Neb.

Bill (Diane) Sandman of David City, Neb.

Amy Sandman of Marshall, Minn.
