FOOD DEPOT News:

SANTA FE — The Food Depot's 2024 Neighbor to Neighbor Campaign announced the results of its 13th annual summer fund drive this week, raising a record-breaking $482,440.

This impressive total surpassed the campaign's goal of $400,000. These funds will help provide approximately 1.9 million meals through The Food Depot's programs and partners across Northern New Mexico.

The annual fund drive ran from the start of June to the end of September, with more than 100 neighborhoods, community groups, and businesses participating in the fundraising competition.

Enthusiasm was at a record high with a 20% increase in donations from 2023. Almost half of all participating groups raised more funds than the previous year's Neighbor to Neighbor campaign.

The top overall fundraiser this year was the community of Monte Sereno, raising nearly $36,000. Eldorado engaged the most individual donors, with close to 100 participants contributing to the drive. Other first-place neighborhood winners included BH Road, Las Lomas, Sierra del Norte, Nava Ade, and Tesuque. Multiple businesses participated in the competition, but women's contemporary fashion store TOKo Santa Fe won first place in the category. Bookies book club took home first place in the community group competition and El Castillo & La Sequoia raised the most funds in the senior living category.

A new award was introduced this year: the Neighbor to Neighbor Community Champion Award. Inspired by Linda Wilder Flatt who founded the drive in 2011 and nurtured its growth, this award is presented to a first-time group that exemplifies community spirit and passion for The Food Depot. The Food Depot was proud to award the Santa Fe Pickleball Club as the inaugural Neighbor to Neighbor Community Champions. This group not only regularly volunteers at The Food Depot warehouse, but as first time Neighbor to Neighbor participants, they raised over $10,000.

The Food Depot staff and leadership extend our heartfelt thanks to all the teams and neighborhood leaders who worked tirelessly over the summer to raise funds and awareness for the food bank. We are deeply grateful for the 2024 fund drive sponsors: TechSource, Inc., Santa Fe New Mexican, Bell Rock Consulting, LLC, Café Pasqual's and Santa Fe by Design.
