Broncos vs. Chiefs score predictions

S.Hernandez1 hr ago
The Denver Broncos face their biggest test of the season on the road against the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs. Denver began the week a full 9.5-point dawgs on the road, but that line has shifted steadily in the Broncos favor and now stands at 7.5-points. That is a healthy shift in our direction, so maybe an upset is in the cards this weekend.

Collectively, our Mile High Report staff is predicting this Chiefs will eek out a 25-21 home win over the Broncos in Week 10. Not all of us predicted our hated rival will be victorious, though, so here is where we each think the final score ends up on Sunday:

Broncos 24, Chiefs 22 I fully expect some overreaction this week from the fanbase. Last week, I predicted a close Broncos road loss when everyone seemed to predicting a shocking win. While it was a blowout loss, I feel that the NFL is game of inches and the Broncos were inches away from several big plays early in this game that, I believe, would have turned the game into a close loss instead of a blowout loss. That's how the cookie crumbles sometimes.

However, that is also why I'm feeling more bullish this week than I was last week. The Chiefs have an untenable win streak to manage and they'll lose at some point. In fact, they almost lost last week. Denver has been playing Patrick Mahomes tough in recent years and this is a good opportunity to catch them sleeping. - Tim Lynch

Chiefs 37, Broncos 24 The Chiefs are, like the Ravens, one of the elite teams in the NFL. Yes, a "no duh" statement to start it off. The Broncos could win this game. Stranger things have happened. I just don't see it. And this isn't just about Patrick Mahomes as the QB. The Chiefs defense is legit. They are a tough matchup for the Broncos. With limited weapons, and a QB that is still just a rookie learning the game, asking the Broncos offense to hang with Kansas City is a bit of a stretch. I'd be surprised if they don't find a way to put points on the board. Sean Payton proved he is willing to call big plays. I just don't see a win happening this week. - Adam Malnati

Chiefs 27, Broncos 20 The Chiefs are the reigning champs and only undefeated team left in the NFL. Their defense has been stellar to date and even with Patrick Mahomes struggling compared to years past, their offense is still a Top 10 unit and has made plays when it mattered most. I'm not down and out on this Broncos team, but this week's road game in Arrowhead may be just as much of a struggle as last week's game in Baltimore. I just think the Chiefs are a much better team top to bottom. - Chris Hart

Chiefs 24, Broncos 21 The loss to the Ravens was an outlier and is not indicative of what the Broncos are as a team. However, Mahomes and the Chiefs are just as good if not better than Baltimore. The KC defense will pose another challenge to Nix, Payton and the Denver offense. By now we know how tough it is to defend Mahomes and this Chiefs offense. Yes, the Broncos have done a decent job in the last few games and the offense will make some plays against a really good defense but it won't be enough. - Ian St. Clair

Chiefs 19, Broncos 13 The Broncos defense showed the ability to slow the Chiefs in 2023 - and the 2024 unit is better overall. The problem is that the Chiefs defense is more formidable than at any point during the Mahomes era. It's been 4 weeks since Bo Nix has seen a quality pass defense. While I Bo-lieve he'll continue to show growth in his decision-making, Spagnuolo is bound to make him look rough a few times and touchdowns will be hard to come by. It'll be a valiant effort and a close game, but ultimately Denver comes up a bit short. - Jonathan Rice

Broncos 26, Chiefs 24 Even in a blow out I was still happy with much of the game. The offensive line was moving dudes off the line of scrimmage, they were giving Nix all day to pass, and Bo Nix was still making plays, and looks like the guy.

The Chiefs defense poses a tough threat but Denver has what it takes to counter them. Just need the Denver D to show up. - Ross Allen

Chiefs 24, Broncos 21 The Broncos were very good last week if we exclude their backups /Street players who started at safety, wide receiver, and linebacker, their run game against the best run defense in the NFL.

Most importantly, Bo Nix consistently pushed down the field, with better success. He's developing as a QB and still absurdly fast.

The chiefs are great, but if PJ Locke is back Denver will compete. With Locke Chiefs 24 Broncos 21. Without Locke Chiefs 31 Denver 14. - John Holms
