Sports Browns Lose 20-16 to Raiders: Missed Extra Point Big

The Cleveland Browns have fallen to 1-3 after losing, 20-16, to the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.

After going up 10-0 in the first quarter, the Browns allowed 20 unanswered points and failed to produce any more points on offense the rest of the afternoon.

The defense was able to produce some points in the second half to keep Cleveland in striking distance, returning a Zamir White fumble for a 25-yard touchdown. However, kicker Dustin Hopkins then missed the extra point, keeping the Raiders' lead at four.

That missed kick ended up having huge implications at the conclusion of the game, as the Browns' offense was able to get into field goal range in the final minute of the game, but needed to score a touchdown trailing by four.

On fourth down from the Las Vegas 9-yard-line, quarterback Deshaun Watson was sacked, ending the drive, and the game for Cleveland. This was Hopkins' first missed extra point of the 2024 season.

While many may blame Hopkins' miss for the loss, the Browns had plenty of other issues contribute to the outcome. Watson has yet to throw over 200 passing yards in a game this season. He finished the Raiders loss with 176 passing yards, one touchdown and one interception.

One of the most disappointing moments for Cleveland came early in the fourth quarter when an 82-yard passing touchdown was brought back due to a holding call on center Nick Harris.
