Browns NFL mock draft after Week 10: Building up the roster instead of drafting a QB in the 1st round

The Cleveland Browns currently are slotted to select with the fourth overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft . With almost half the season left, a lot can change between now and April's annual selection process.

For most Browns fans, QB Deshaun Watson's future is the big question. We've laid out logically why Watson is likely back in Cleveland next year but there is an emotional component that seems to be pointing at a divorce from the team.

Our previous Browns Mock Draft brought the team an interesting quarterback in the second round. There are a few quarterbacks that could intrigue in this year's draft but not the top-level talent we've seen recently. Cam Ward, for example, is very good but might be someone Cleveland wants to pass on .

For our Week 10 Browns Mock Draft, we are using Mock Draft Database's simulator :

First Round

WR Tetairoa McMillan, Arizona

After a breakout season last year, McMillan is on pace to beat those totals. In nine games, the Wildcat star has 63 receptions for 1,066 yards and six touchdowns. Adding McMillan to Cedric TillmanJerry Jeudy will give whoever is at quarterback a big-time group work with.

With who was selected with the first three picks (see the end), a trade down would seem likely here.

Second Round

DL Deone Walker, Kentucky

Walker is a value pick here in the second round. While the Wildcat (different school than McMillan, same mascot) hasn't matched his 7.5 sack pace from last year, he gives the Browns another talented defender in the middle.

Third Round

S Kevin Winston Jr., Penn State

TE Harold Fannin, Jr., Bowling Green

Call the third round the "Junior Round" with Winston and Fannin. Juan Thornhill hasn't lived up to his billing and David Njoku needs help at tight end

Fourth Round

RB Ollie Gordon II, Oklahoma State

Among the many areas with questions on Cleveland's roster, the running back spot is the most interesting. As of now, none of the current backs are certain to return next year so grabbing one or more in the NFL draft will be helpful.

Fifth Round

LB Deontae Lawson, Alabama

Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah's injury is concerning but JOK should return. Mohamoud Diabate has played well this season but adding to the second level, given the run games in the AFC North, is important.

Sixth Round

OL Seth McLaughlin, The Ohio State

We sometimes hear about it if we don't add Buckeyes in our mock drafts and McLaughlin can be an important depth piece quickly

DE David Walker, Central Arkansas

We believe you can never have too many offensive to defensive linemen so taking a flyer on a small school guy off the edge is worth a shot.

OT Jude Bowry, Boston College

See our comment above about offensive tackles.

As most are, the top of the draft via this mock was strong on quarterbacks but Cleveland would have been left with the third-best of the bunch:
