Bucks County Towns Chosen As Having The Best Historic Downtowns In PA Online travel magazine ranks the Top 10 Best Historic Downtowns in Pennsylvania.BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Two Bucks County towns top the list for having the Best Historic Downtowns in Pennsylvania, according to the digital travel magazine, TheTravel.com.
TheTravel ranks Doylestown Borough as having the best historic downtown in Pennsylvania with nearby New Hope Borough coming in at number two.
"The dynamic interplay between historic preservation and modern vibrancy in these downtown areas creates an atmosphere where time seems to stand still, making them worth visiting for travel enthusiasts," says the online travel website about Pennsylvania's Top 10 historic downtowns.
The site calls Doylestown "a living canvas of history, with its historic downtown offering a glimpse into the county's past. The town square, anchored by the Bucks County (Administration Building), is surrounded by well-preserved 19th-century buildings that house a vibrant mix of shops and eateries."
The travel magazine highlights Fonthill Castle, the Mercer Museum, and the James A. Michener Art Museum as the "must sees" for tourists visiting the Bucks County Seat.
TheTravel picked New Hope Borough as the second best historic downtown in Pennsylvania. New Hope's "bohemian and eclectic charm" are reasons to visit the Delaware River town, located not far from Doylestown.

The travel magazine highlights the historic Delaware Canal, the Buck County Playhouse, and Peddler's Village as town destinations.
Other Pennsylvania towns making the list are: Bedford, Phoenixville, Lititz, Bloomsburg, Bellefonte, Bethlehem, Media, Kennett Square.
