GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — Monday marked a new phase for the Build Project in Greenville with construction moving to the intersection of E. Fifth Street and Cotanche Street.

Part of downtown will be closed to drivers for the next five-to-six months. "We're out here changing the traffic lines for the people to get into all of these stores," Crew leader Daniel Ramirez said.

Monday, crews began working on painting the lines on the roads, setting up barriers and preparing the site for major upgrades. The area will be getting wider sidewalks, new brick crosswalks and trees.
