Burlington apartment building catches fire

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Burlington fire crews spent the early morning hours battling flames at a Grant Street home. The fire started just before 1:15 Monday morning in an apartment building on 24 Grant Street. Channel 3 spoke with Fire Marshal Mathew Stone who said there was significant damage to the back of the building. Stone said it is unclear at this time, but preliminary investigation indicates the fire started from the outside. Burlington Fire Department said all of the apartments were evacuated and no injuries were reported. Operations are still underway searching for any remaining hot spots. The fire is still under investigation and we will keep you updated as we learn more.
