The Caltech men's soccer continued its SCIAC campaign on the road at Pomona-Pitzer Colleges in a Saturday morning shootout. The battle produced six total goals, including two from Junior forward Ishaan Mantripragada (Saratoga, Calif. / Harker school) in an impressive performance to help the Beavers come back from a two-goal deficit.

The game got off to a hot start with the Beavers finding themselves down 2-0 a little under three minutes into the half. Caltech rallied and got multiple shots on net, eventually getting exactly what they needed with back-to-back goals in under two minutes. The Beavers' first goal came in the 29th minute with Mantripragada putting his team on the board with a tremendous individual effort. With the team still freshly energized, Senior forward Andy Dimnaku (Wellesley, Mass. / Wellesley) fed a pass to the first-year forward Matthew Luk (Bel Air, Md. / C. Milton Wright) who would bury it and tie the score.

Both teams played solid defense for the remainder of the half, not allowing many gaps or scoring chances, and the teams entered the halftime break squared up 2-2.

Entering the second half, the Beavers looked to build a lead and continue their momentum. Seven minutes into the half a Pomona-Pitzer foul lined Mantripraganda up for a penalty kick, which he would convert for his second goal of the game to give the Beavers a 3-2 lead.

A Sagehen goal less than a minute later tied the score again at 3-3. The Beavers fought to the end getting five shots in the final ten minutes of the game, with three from Mantripragada who finished with seven total shots. Pomona-Pitzer out-shot the Beavers 18-16, but Caltech was more accurate with 10 shots on goal for the Sagehens' five.
