In an exclusive interview with Verrissimo , Giorgi opened up about her retirement decision. However, she made it clear that her boyfriend had no part in her decision. "No, he was not the push. It was my decision that I wanted to make for a long time," said Giorgi in the interview. Giorgi did not reveal the name of her boyfriend and chose to keep it a secret as well.

Giorgi is now retired from tennis and she does not want to make her comeback to the sport anymore. "When I finish I don't go back. But I still like it, I love watching it. I even went to New York to see some matches. What do I hope for the future? I don't know, for now I want to travel," the 32-year-old said when asked about the possibilities of her comeback.

She might be married to an American now, but Giorgi represented the Italian flag and she suggested that Italy would always be her home. "I will always return to Italy, I am Italian. One day I will return to live here. I love Italy, it is the most beautiful country. I was born here and this is my home. Traveling to learn about other cultures but Italy comes first".

Interestingly, soon after announcing her retirement from tennis, Camila Giorgi took a break from everything and didn't make public appearances for a long time. Later reports suggested that she had run away from the country due to discrepancies in her tax records that emerged shortly after her loss in Miami.
