Campaign volunteers make final case for candidates before Election Day

After months of campaigning, Election Day is just moments away, and volunteers from both political campaigns put in one final effort to help their candidates win.

"It's all about mobilization now. We're not focusing on having conversations with people, convincing them one way or another. We're just making sure people turn out, and as you know, Erie is a very tight county and last time it was won by 1,295 votes," said Alex Wright, Harris campaign volunteer.

"It's basically just knocking on doors and making phone calls, just encouraging people to get out and vote. As we all know, erie county is huge. It pretty much could determine the outcome of the election, and that's been where our focus is," said Patrick Fuller, Trump campaign volunteer.

Volunteers from both parties said it's all about voter turnout now, and they're putting resources into making sure voters get to the polls.

"We just want to make sure everybody votes, you can't be complacent. You can't say, 'We have it in the bag,' because the polls don't mean anything, the betting doesn't mean anything, the signs don't mean anything," said Alan Woolslare, Trump campaign volunteer.

"It's important that as many people as possible exercise their constitutional right to vote," said Cassidy Bush, Harris campaign volunteer. "Five votes can flip a precinct. five freakin' votes. It's insane, so that's why we're doing the final push."

In addition to their final pushes before Election Day, JET 24/FOX 66 reporter Tyler Gallagher also asked some campaign volunteers what they want voters to keep in mind when coming to polling sites like Erie High School on Tuesday.

"We really just want to make sure people have that guiding message in their mind about why this election is so important," said Wright.

"I want them to think about their children and grandchildren," said Woolslare.

"I want them to think about what they really want in a president," said Bush.

"If your life was better four years ago than it was today, just keep all that in mind when you go to the polls," said Fuller.

As Election Day gets closer and closer, it seems both parties have the same message — Vote.
