Car crashes into restaurant on Alysheba Way

LEXINGTON, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — A local restaurant was evacuated and closed on Saturday night after a car reportedly crashed into it.

According to the Lexington Fire Department, crews were dispatched to the Steak 'n Shake on Alysheba Way just after 11 p.m. on Saturday in response to reports of a vehicle inside a structure.

When crews arrived at the scene, a car was found with four feet of intrusion into the restaurant, authorities said.

Crews reportedly had to use a winch to get the car out of the Steak 'n Shake.

The restaurant was closed by law enforcement while emergency personnel worked to clear the scene. It is currently unknown how severe the damage was to the Steak 'n Shake, or when it will reopen.
