Cardinals down Comets at home

V.Lee29 min ago

Last week, the Lady Cardinals grounded the Rapid City Christian Comets in a 3-1 victory at The Bird Cage.

Chadron took the first and second sets, 25-15 and 25-19, before Rapid City got the upper hand in the third set battle and took the 25-20. The Cardinals wrapped things up by flipping that third set score to take the fourth set 25-20 and the match win.

Leading the Cardinals on kills was Paige Slingsby with 15, followed by Beau Behrends with 12 and Jove Griese with 10. Jenny Pinnt helped out her teammates with an amazing 44 assists across the match, and Sophie Watson and Raylie Pourier kept the ball in play with 23 and 18 receptions, respectively.

Coach Blakelee Hoffman stated it was one of the best matches of the season for Chadron, with the team showing plenty of cohesiveness on the court.

However, the girls struggled to find a win over the weekend at Western Conference, taking 2-0 losses against Gering (25-15 and 25-16), Alliance (25-17 and 25-23) and Sidney (25-19 and 25-19).

The Cards were scheduled to see the Red Raiders again in The Bird Cage this past Tuesday, and will head to Valentine for an invitational this weekend.
