Michigamme Township highlights 50 years of park renovations

ich. (WLUC) - Michigamme Township is celebrating 50 years of community collaboration. Former and current township officials cut the ribbon for the Michigamme Township Park's recent renovations Wednesday. The park's tennis and basketball courts were modernized and made ADA-compliant with help from a Michigan DNR grant . Former Michigamme Township clerk Joan Howe says park improvements started back in 1974. "We were quite proud of it," Howe said. "We still are. I'm so happy that it's refurbished with the pickleball, tennis courts and the hoops over there. My son said he'd be in heaven if he were younger." The Township Park is located on the shores of Lake Michigamme.
