Carol Hewitt Obituary
Carol Kurtz Hewitt, age 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at Twin Creeks Assisted Living in Riverview, FL. (Carol was also recently from West Chester, PA.) She was the wife of the late Sherwood J Hewitt who passed away in 2022. Carol was born on November 19, 1938 in Philadelphia, PA to the late William G. Kurtz, Jr. and Carolyn B. Kurtz. Carol was a graduate of Lower Merion High School and the University of Pennsylvania's School of Dental Hygiene. Carol and Sherwood spent many years at Hershey's Mill in West Chester, PA.
Carol is survived by her daughters, Carolyn I. Burke (Patrick Burke) and Wendy K. Vallerschamp (Robert Vallerschamp, Jr.) and her five grandchildren, Riley Burke, Emma Burke, Nicole Burke, Cassandra Vallerschamp, and Robert Vallerschamp, III.
Carol loved to knit, read, and she was an amazing cook. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and served many years as a Deacon. Pets were a very important part of Carol's life, and she and Sherwood enjoyed their precious poodle mixes. Carol's favorite place on earth was Barker Pond in Hiram, ME. She enjoyed many summers there in her youth and introduced her husband to the pond community which he adored as well. In their retired years, they spent many months at the cabin on the pond. In her later years, Carol's pride and joy were her grandchildren.
Services and interment will be private.
