Katherine Jenkins stuns in an elegant black dress as she takes to the stage at the British Forces Foundation 25th Anniversary Ball

Katherine Jenkins wowed as she performed at the British Forces Foundation 25th Anniversary Ball in London on Thursday.

The opera singer, 44, looked sensational in an elegant black dress which had a lace bodice and tulle skirt as she took to the stage.

The remembrance event took place at the Old War Office, Raffles Hotel, with an auction held to raise funds for the foundation.

Katherine wore her blonde locks down and enhanced her bronzed tan with a glamorous make-up look.

The songstress was in great spirits as she threw her arms out to the side upon completing a number.

The songstress wowed with her vocals and was accompanied by a piano at the poignant event.

Katherine is best-known for her work in classical music and signed a record-breaking contract in her early twenties reportedly worth £1 million.

She has since 13 studio albums and appeared in an English National Opera production of Carousel opposite Les Miserables star Alfie Boe.

Earlier this year, Katherine performed at the D-Day 80 - Remembering the Normandy Landings event at London's Royal Albert Hall .

She performed alongside Emeli Sandé and Lulu for the special occasion which was hosted by Davina McCall.

The Memorial, which stands in Normandy overlooking Gold Beach, holds the names of the 22,442 service personnel serving under British Command who died on D-Day and during the Battle of Normandy

Katherine also announced that she and Sir Anthony Hopkins CBE will join forces for upcoming Handel biopic The King Of Covent Garden.

Katherine will be the executive producer of the film with fellow Welsh native Anthony portraying Handel

Also earlier this year, Katherine took to the stage for BST Hyde Park where she was introduced on stage by Myleene Klass.

The singer had to brave the rain to make it through her performance but thanked the crowd afterwards .

She wrote on Instagram: 'Singing in the rain at. Thank you to the amazing crowd for braving the wet.'
