GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) - Since 2019, the Grand Junction Inclusivity Project has worked to make Grand Junction more accessible and inclusive.

A 'Caroline's Cart' was delivered to the Walmart on North Avenue. The cart delivered on September 20th is the second of three total carts. The first was delivered at the Walmart on Warrior Way, and the third will be delivered to the Rim Rock Walmart.

Vanessa Perez, the founder of the Grand Junction Inclusivity Project, said they had committed to putting at least one cart in each store location. They spent the last year doing fundraisers and were finally able to make it all a reality. "We are very passionate about removing barriers to public spaces," said Perez. "This idea was given to us by local caregivers that said it would be easier to go grocery shopping if they had a cart that could safely have someone with a disability with them."

The carts are designed to accommodate people with disabilities, special needs, seniors, or those with limited mobility.
