A Casper man has been charged with criminal entry and criminal trespass following an encounter with police in which an affidavit states he claimed to see a ghost.

Edlos Lee Feyhl, born 1987, was arrested Friday after a property manager called police and reported he "had broken into his former apartment," the affidavit said.

According to police, the manager said he may be experiencing a mental health crisis or under the influence because he claimed to see a ghost.

When police arrived, officers directed Feyhl to come outside, telling him "you're not supposed to be in there." Feyhl declined to leave, however, and said "something to the effect of 'I can be here,'" the affidavit said.

After a second exchange, Feyhl left the residence and met officers outside, the document said. It added that "Officer Singh then told Feyhl to place his belongings down numerous times, to which he did not comply."

Eventually, Feyhl was placed in handcuffs.

Following the arrest, the document states Feyhl made a number of "illogical" statements.

Feyhl told police he had a "fake" eviction notice in his pocket and noted "many torn pieces of paper" and that the officer should "call the tribe," though the arrest did not occur on tribal land, Singh, who signed the affidavit, said in the document.

Throughout the process, Singh said Feyhl maintained that he wasn't evicted and had not left the premises.

The document says the property manager told another officer that Feyhl had been given a 30-day notice, agreed to and signed the documentation and notified the manager of his "intent to move out immediately.

Singh also said that in that interaction, Feyhl was told that he could collect his belongings on June 27 but was not permitted to return after.

Feyhl was arrested on June 28.
