Centenary Football gets first win since return of the program

SHREVEPORT, La. ( KTAL/KMSS )— This is the first season that Centenary College has played NCAA football since the 1940s. On Saturday, history was made as the Gents head home with their first victory, 36-17.

It was a slow start to the game, both teams tied at three until late in the third quarter, but once the Gents got going they did not stop. Quarterback Kody Fuentes went 9/12 for 117 yards . Zin'Tavious Smith led the team in rushing with 10 carries for 135 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Trent Smith led the team in receiving, with 59 yards.

The Gents travel to ETBU next Saturday, September 28. Kickoff is set for 6 pm. The next home game will be against Lyon on October 5.
