Chain Famous for Root Beer Expanding into 3 Wisconsin Places Soon

If you consider yourself a connoisseur of root beer, you'll be happy to know that an American chain famous for it is planning to expand in three Wisconsin places very soon.

I'm fairly certain that my first root beer as a kid came from this place. I saw Nation's Restaurant News report this week that A & W Restaurants has eyes on three Wisconsin places for expansion.

Get this. According to that report, A & W has plans to open between 3 and 5 new restaurants in Milwaukee and 2 to 4 new places in Madison. They also announced they have signed a franchise agreement in Merrill, Wisconsin and that location is expected to open in the first quarter of 2025.

Here's what the current map looks like showing A & W's presence in Wisconsin . There are a total of 55 Wisconsin A & W's and that looks to grow exponentially over the next year.

It appears that you're going to have to try hard NOT to end up with a root beer in Wisconsin thanks to this news and for those of us that enjoy root beer (and floats!), that's a very good thing.
