CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Homegrown musicians Brandon Lake and Chandler Moore are celebrating after multiple wins during the 2024 Dove Awards held earlier this week.

Lake earned three awards during the Gospel Music Association's annual ceremony including Songwriter of the Year, Worship Recorded Song of the Year for "Praise," and Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year for his album "Coat of Many Colors."

The event was held Tuesday night in Nashville, Tennessee and featured many of the gospel music industry's top artists.

North Charleston native Chandler Moore also took home three awards. One for his collaboration with Lake, both listed as winners for Worship Recorded Song of the Year, and he took home awards for Contemporary Gospel Recorded Song of the Year, and Contemporary Gospel Album of the Year where Moore is listed as a writer.

Lake and Moore earned four Grammy Awards in February 2023 for their work with gospel group Maverick City Music.

Both are worship leaders at churches in the Charleston area.

Lake played a sold-out concert at Credit One Stadium on Daniel Island back in May. The show was part of the singer's "Tear the Roof Off" tour which made dozens of stops across the country.

It followed the success of his fourth album, "Coat of Many Colors," which debuted at number one on the Top Christian Albums chart in the U.S. last November.

Other winners during Tuesday night's ceremony included artists Johnathan Smith, Phil Wickham, and music icon CeCe Winans, who won Artist of the Year. It was televised Friday and an encore showing is scheduled to air Oct. 11 on the TBN network.
