Children Can Learn To Love Rocks At Coronado Historic Site

In a partnership with the Martha Liebert Public Library in Bernalillo, Coronado Historic Site is offering a "Ranger Read and Learn" story time that is free and open to all ages.

At Ranger Read and Learn, a ranger from Coronado Historic Site will read a story and offer related conversation and activities. Children can listen to the book I'm Trying to Love Rocks by Bethany Barton to learn about rocks and explore the different types of rocks in New Mexico. Participants will then make a rock-based work of art after listening to the story.

When: Saturday, Oct. 12, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Where: Martha Liebert Public Library, 124 Calle Malinche in Bernalillo

Why: This partnership offers an opportunity for Coronado Historic Site to share history and natural history related to the site with surrounding community members.
