Christian McCaffrey, CeeDee Lamb, NFL Injury Statuses and Fantasy Impact for Week 10

A.Kim52 min ago
Michael Zagaris/San Francisco 49ers/ Christian McCaffrey will make his long-anticipated 2024 NFL regular-season debut in Week 10.

The San Francisco 49ers running back has been out with Achilles and calf injuries, but the time has come for one of the most popular fantasy football draft picks to take the field.

McCaffrey's first opponent is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who have allowed 4.9 yards per carry this season.

CeeDee Lamb will also be on the field Sunday for the Dallas Cowboys, but his production could take a hit with Dak Prescott out.

Below is a look at all of the significant injury news affecting fantasy football matchups in Week 10.

  • Christian McCaffrey, RB, SF: Expected to play Sunday (calf/Achilles), per ESPN.com's Nick Wagoner.
  • Dak Prescott, QB, DAL: Out (hamstring), per The Athletic's Jon Machota.
  • Trevor Lawrence, QB, JAX: Trending toward not playing (shoulder), per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
  • Tony Pollard, RB, TEN: Returned to practice Friday (foot), per ESPN.com's Turron Davenport.
  • Tyjae Spears, RB, TEN: Trending toward being back (hamstring), per Titans.com's Jim Wyatt.
  • Brian Robinson, RB, WSH: Out (hamstring), per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
  • CeeDee Lamb, WR, DAL: Full go for Sunday (shoulder), per Machota.
  • A.J. Brown, WR, PHI: Full participant in Friday practice (knee), per team injury report.
  • DeVonta Smith, WR, PHI: Full participant in Friday practice (hamstring), per team injury report.
  • Nico Collins, WR, HOU: Questionable (hamstring), per ESPN's Adam Schefter.
  • Mike Evans, WR, TB: Out (hamstring), per Fox Sports' Greg Auman.
  • Chris Olave, WR, NO: Out (concussion), per Schefter.
  • Amari Cooper, WR, BUF: Questionable (wrist), per ESPN.com's Alaina Getzenberg.
  • Keon Coleman, WR, BUF: Out (wrist), per Getzenberg.
  • Michael Pittman Jr., WR, IND: Out (back), per Schefter.
  • Drake London, WR, ATL: Questionable (hip), per NFL.com.
  • Adam Thielen, WR, CAR: Out (hamstring), per Charlotte Observer's Mike Kaye.
  • Dallas Goedert, TE, PHI: Full participant in Friday practice (hamstring), per team injury report.
  • Tyreek Hill, WR, MIA: Did not practice Friday (wrist), per Miami Herald's Barry Jackson.
  • Christian McCaffrey To Make Season Debut

McCaffrey was a popular No. 1 overall pick in fantasy football drafts, but his injuries kept him off the field for nine weeks.

He will be a must-start player in all formats of fantasy football leagues, no matter how rusty he may look after a half-season off.

Tampa Bay presents a strong matchup for the 49ers running game because it has allowed over 100 rushing yards in seven of nine games.

The Bucs were just torn up for 244 rushing yards by the Baltimore Ravens in Week 7. That is a good sign for McCaffrey and Co. on Sunday.

McCaffrey may not be at his best right away, but in terms of matchups to return to the field for, this is one that suits him and could allow him to turn in a high fantasy point total.

CeeDee Lamb Set to Play for Cowboys

CeeDee Lamb is available to play in the Cowboys' NFC East battle with the Philadelphia Eagles.

However, his fantasy football impact could decrease because of Dallas' quarterback situation. Cooper Rush is starting in place of Dak Prescott.

The Cowboys are 5-1 in Rush's six career starts, but only once did he throw for more than 235 yards.

Lamb earned 49 targets over Rush's five starts during the 2022 campaign, but he only got over 80 receiving yards on two occasions in that stretch.

Lamb's impact in points-per-reception leagues will not drop since he had at least five receptions in all of Rush's starts in 2022.

He is expected to take a hit in standard leagues because the yardage production is not guaranteed to be there due to Rush's arm and Philadelphia's recent defensive performances.
